Day 1

Full Salon Health & Safety. Methods used to sterilise and sanitise tools and equipment. Operating laser machine systems, characteristics of laser, wavelengths, energy density, selective photothermolysis. Diseases & disorders.

A&P relating to skin, hair and effects of hormones, the causes and definitions of hair growth. Establishing a safe environment, full laser consultation and information including medical contraindications, pre-treatment considerations, client medical history. Drugs list for either not treating client or test patch with caution.

Consent and agreement. Treatment protocols. Safe parameters of laser machines for effective treatments. Patch testing, aftercare procedures, effectiveness of treatments. Conditions to be treated. How to prepare client for Laser treatments, hair types and colour which can be treated, length between sessions, aftercare treatment. Recommended session guide.

The correct use of ‘Record Log Sheets’. All laser treatments are logged and dated to record any changes to medication, all areas treated. Full demonstrations to laser treatments. Practice sessions for students to perform Diode 3-wave painless hair removal treatments (under strict supervision) on various areas for skin and hair types. Client aftercare and homecare advice.

Day 2

Photo-Rejuvenation treatments to treat the following: Lines and wrinkles Age Spots – Sun Spots and Sun Damaged Skin – Acne breakouts, pigmentation marks. Redness of the face – Red Neck IPL treatments also reduce and helps to calm rosacea. Decreases pore size. Product knowledge for professional products used, treatment preparation and set up. Safe parameters of IPL machines for effective treatments. Protective laser goggles MUST be used by client and therapist for every laser treatment given. Practice sessions for students to perform photo-rejuvenation treatments (under strict supervision) on various areas of the body. Client aftercare and homecare advice. IPL and Diode fluencies of each treatment, safe parameters of laser machines for effective treatments. Patient skin type (According to the Fitzpatrick Classification for Sun-Reactive Skin Types), number of shots used and recorded per treatment, the reaction and evaluation of each treatment and cost of each treatment. Client aftercare and homecare advice.

Recommended but not essential – If you do not hold a Beauty Therapy (Level 2 or 3) Qualification we can
assist you with our fast track Beauty Therapy (Level 2 & 3) course. We are dedicated to help and guide you
through your training course, your home study.

Experience needed – None – Beauty Therapy (Level 2 & 3) or medical professional.
Course Duration – (2 full days) from 9.30am – 4.30pm
Certificate Gained – ABT Combined Laser & Intense Pulsed Light Skin Rejuvenation (Level 4) qualification

This course requires – 40 hours home study. Also includes professional training manual, all relevant documents including consultation forms and aftercare leaflets which will be emailed for you to personalise for your own use.
