Beauty Therapy Specialist Certificate in A&P and Swedish Body Massage
The main course we offer in holistic beauty therapy is the specialist certificate in A&P and Swedish Body Massage. This is an intense course that will enable you to perform Swedish body massage treatments to expert standards. You will be able to use this knowledge and the practical skills to work within the beauty industry, independently or as a mobile therapist. As a result, you will be able to gain licensing through the local council or government.
Course Requirements
For this course, there is no prior experience necessary, and you need to be able to commit one full day a week across three weeks (from 9.30am – 4.30pm, though there is some flexibility on this). You will be required to complete 20 hours of study at home and learner checklists. The cost of the course is £795, which covers the training manual, step-by-step treatment procedure, and other additional materials.
Course Breakdown
This course covers three weeks and can be broken down into the first week covering health and safety, the second week assessing your knowledge on what you have learned previously, building on that knowledge to them complete a final assessment in the third week. The first week covers areas including sterilising and sanitising salon tools and equipment and how to carry out consultations with clients, including an overview of skin problems, and the body. We will cover massage positioning, different techniques and aftercare advice. In the second week, we will build on this by looking at specific products, including oils and aromatherapy products and their therapeutic effects emotionally and physically, as well as how they work on different skin types. From the first week’s focus on arms and legs, this week looks at back, neck and shoulder massage. The final week combines everything you have learnt, working up to performing a full body treatment.
After the Course
Along with your certificate, you will get to take away your professional training manual, so you always have reminders of the course at your fingertips. We will also provide you with consultation forms and aftercare leaflets via email, which you can adjust for your own personal use.
