Laser hair removal uses a single wavelength of light, whereas IPL uses a broad spectrum of wavelengths hair colour.
Lasers are more concentrated and focused and target the melanin in the hair follicle and can be used on all skin types from white to black skin.
IPL Treatments – are used for Hair Removal (Skin Type I to IV) from white to Asian skin types. (No IPL can be used on black skin) it is also used for Anti-Ageing Photo-Rejuvenation Superficial Vascular Lesions Pigmentation Issues – Active Acne – Acne/Rosacea – Age Spots – Sunspots and the reduction of Fine Line and Wrinkles.
The Courses
At the Academy of Beauty Training, we are glad to offer Combined IPL Hair Removal & Photo Rejuvenation courses either alone or combined with the new 3-Wave Diode laser training. In each course, you will be given the necessary time to complete the course thoroughly, so you have time to process the required knowledge and skills. The Legal Requirements
Since 2016, it has been a legal requirement that beauty therapists should have at least a Level 2 and Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy before taking a Level 4 course. As the IPL courses are Level 4 qualifications, it is a requirement to obtain these qualifications in order to undertake IPL training. If you would rather not to do the Beauty Therapy Level 2 course (perhaps you do not want to offer clients treatments such as manicure, pedicures and waxing etc.), it is possible to complete the Beauty Therapy Facial Course instead, before moving onto Level 3. With our course progression, you can be sure to be on your way to operating safely and legally within the public sector.
