This is an intense course which is designed to train candidates to provide expert ‘Electrical Epilation ‘Treatments’ to the highest standards. This enables candidates to insure themselves to work in the beauty industry, independently or as a mobile therapist. You will receive a professional training manual to help guide you through the treatments you have learned to give you the complete confidence needed to provide these treatments within the beauty industry.

Week 1 – Full salon Health & Safety
Methods used to sterilise and sanitise salon tools and equipment. Electrical epilation for permanent hair removal using diathermy, galvanic and blend techniques. Client consultations, contra- indications, skin diseases & disorders, A&P relating to skin, hair and effects of hormones, the causes, effects and definitions of hair growth. Different sizes and types of needles. Skin and hair characteristics of different client groups. Describing the physical sensation of the treatment to the client. Different types of hair growth. Circumstances in which a doctor’s referral or approval is required. How to perform epilation treatments correctly. Preparation for and application of electrical epilation. All relevant equipment and their use. Treatment preparation and trolley set up. All materials and their use. Client aftercare and homecare advice. Practice sessions for students to perform electrical epilation treatments.
Week 2 – (Mini assessment on previous week)
Client consultations, contra indications. Recognising skin types, conditions and response to treatment. Monitoring the effectiveness of epilation and post treatment advice. Maintaining clients confidentiality and privacy. Removing hair from different types of follicles. Full demonstrations to electrical epilation. Practice sessions for stu-dents to perform electrical epilation on various areas and hair. A Range of equipment for electrical epilation. Client aftercare and homecare advice.
Week 3 – (Mini assessment on previous week)
Product knowledge to skin types and professional products use. Treatment preparation and trolley set up. Client consultations, contra indications. Full demonstrations of electrical epilation. Recognising and treating ingrown hairs, removing hair from different hair follicles, single, compound and distorted. Practice sessions for students to perform electrical epilation on various areas and hair.
Client aftercare and homecare advice. Guide to Retail & Pricing of treatments.

- Certificate Gained – Beauty Therapy Specialist in Electrical Epilation (Electrolysis)
- This course requires – 18 hours home study and learner check lists
