This is an intense course which is designed to train candidates to provide expert treatments to the highest standards of Beauty Therapy (level 2).
This course which is designed to train candidates to provide expert treatments of Beauty Therapy (Level 2) to the highest standards. This enables candidates to insure themselves to work in the beauty industry, independently or as a mobile therapist. Consultation forms & aftercare leaflets will be emailed for you to personalise for your own use. You will receive 5 professional training manuals, one for each course as listed below.
Week 1 – Small Eye Treatments
Full Salon Health & Safety. Methods used to sterilise and sanitise salon tools and equipment. Skin diseases and disorders, contra-indications to small eye treatments, Client consultations, treatment preparation and trolley set up, full demonstrations to eyebrow and eyelash tinting and eyebrow shaping. Advising on eyebrow shapes to suit individual clients, Full demonstrations to eyelash extensions, strip lash and individual lash extensions. Client aftercare advice and home care. Practice session for students to perform small eye treat-ments and eyebrow shaping. Guide to retail & pricing of treatments.
Week 2 – Manicure
Full Salon Health & Safety. Methods used to sterilise and sanitise salon tools and equipment. Skin diseases and disorders, function and structure of the skin and nail. A&P of the hand and arm, client consultation and contra-indications. Treatment preparation and trolley set up. Full demonstrations and techniques to basic and luxury manicure including manicure products, exfoliating treatments, masks, paraffin wax, massage techniques to hands and forearms. Correct application of nail polish including French polish. All relevant equipment, products, materials and their use. Practice sessions for students to perform manicure treatments including basic and luxury manicures. Client aftercare & homecare advice. Guide to Retail & Pricing of treatments.
Week 3 – Pedicure
Full Salon Health & Safety. Methods used to sterilise and sanitise salon tools and equipment. Skin diseases and disorders, function and structure of the skin and nail. A&P of the foot and leg, client consultation and contra-indications. Treatment preparation and trolley set up. Full demonstrations and techniques to basic and luxury pedicure including massage techniques to feet and lower legs, pedicure products, exfoliating treatments, masks, paraffin wax. Correct application of nail polish including French polish. All relevant equipment, products, materials and their use. Practice sessions for students to perform pedicure treatments including basic and luxury pedicures. Client aftercare & homecare advice. Guide to Retail & Pricing of treatments.
Week 4 – Waxing (Mini assessment on previous week)
Methods used to sterilise and sanitise salon tools and equipment. Common skin diseases and disorders, client consultation and contra-indications, hair structure and cycle, treatment preparation and trolley set up, various wax treatments and techniques including hot & cool wax, full demonstrations and methods to both hot & cool wax to eyebrow, top lip, chin, under arm and forearm waxing. Full and half wax, bikini, chest, back and abdomen waxing, Client aftercare advise and homecare. Practice session for students to perform wax on all areas as above. Week 5 – Make-Up (Mini assessment on previous week)
Methods used to sterilise and sanitise salon tools and equipment. Skin diseases and disorders. Client consultation, Contra indications, treatment preparation and trolley set up, cleansing of the skin – assessment of all skin types . Preparing the skin for make-up, matching tones and colours, facial shapes, eye shapes and lip shapes, highlighting and shading features. Corrective make-up. Week 6 & 7 – Full Facial (Mini assessment on previous week)
Methods used to sterilise and sanitise salon tools and equipment. Structure & function of the skin, A&P of relevant bones, muscles & lymphatic systems. Client consulta-tions, contra indications, skin analysis, skin diseases, & disorders, characteristics of Black and Asian skin, treatment preparation and trolley set up. Use of cleansers, toners and moisturisers. Steam, exfoliate, extraction, facial massage techniques and their benefits. Face masks, all materials and their use. Specialist skin products. Contra-indications to using oils and aromatherapy oil products, product knowledge to skin types and professional products used. Full demonstrations to massage techniques and routines. Week 8 – Commercial Salon
This day gives you the extra opportunity to practice the treatments you have learned and any treatments which you feel needs that extra attention to give you the confidence needed to perform these treatments in the Beauty Industry.

You can select three different routes for your training courses – All courses have the same course content. The only difference between the Academy of Beauty Training course and the Awarding Body course is that the Academy of Beauty Training offers Guided Learning hours, home study, case studies, portfolio building and an in-house assessment day, whereas an awarding body course entails home study, case studies, portfolio building and you will be required to have an Internal Assessment followed by an External Verifier who will be present for practical and written exams – appertaining to the awarding body.
Academy of Beauty Training offer Approved and Accredited certificates by leading Insurance companies – You will receive your first years Professional Beauty Insurance FREE OF CHARGE once you have completed your course.
Once you have successfully completed your training course, you will receive a certificate issued by Academy of Beauty Training which is approved by a choice of two main Beauty Insurance companies. This not only demonstrates your commitment to the training, but also allows you to obtain public liability insurance so you can work on a self-employed basis and start offering treatments to paying clients from your home, as a mobile therapist or from your business premises. Add on insurance extensions are available at an additional cost for you to upgrade your insurance for any advanced courses you wish to take later. You can choose the extensions you require based on the treatments you provide.

This not only demonstrates your commitment to the training, but also allows you to obtain public liability insurance so you can work on a self-employed basis and start offering treatments to paying clients from your home, as a mobile therapist or from your business premises while working towards your accredited qualification. Employers value recognised, accredited qualifications as they demonstrate the therapist’s competence to achieve a recognised beauty training award that complies with industry-level standards. Accredited Qualifications from an awarding body are highly-valued both in the UK and internationally for excellence and recognition amongst employers within the industry.
