Aims of the course
- To become familiar with IPL intense, pulsed light treatments and how these devices are used safely within the industry
Entry Requirements
Learners are required to hold: A Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy or an Anatomy & Phycology VTCT level 3 certificate an Access to Aesthetics qualification or equivalent. All qualifications must include A&P at Level 3 or Level 3 Facial Electrical. Core of knowledge for Laser and Light Devices.
- A good standard of English to complete course competencies and online examinations
- Must be aged 18 or over
Course Structure & Assessment
This qualification is informed by employers and national occupational standards for beauty therapy and includes all the required elements to work effectively with Skin-Rejuvenation treatments
Learners must achieve all mandatory units, which include:
- Perform skin rejuvenation using Intense Pulsed Light systems
- Perform hair growth reduction using Intense Pulsed Light systems

What Can I Do With This Qualification?
This qualification is designed to prepare you for progression into advanced treatments within the Level 4 Laser, tattoo removal, or medical-based applications. It also supports your personal development, confidence, and ability to build a successful career within the aesthetics industry.
Most local councils require the laser technician to have a fully accredited Level 4 Core of Knowledge certificate. Insurance companies have also updated their policies during the last few years.
What Do I Need to use? – A home PC or laptop or iPad to complete the theory elements.
Do you need a license for these treatments in the UK?
