What this qualification covers

This qualification is designed to meet industry and National Occupational Standards and includes the essential knowledge and practical skills required to work safely and effectively with IPL Skin Rejuvenation and 3-Wave Diode Laser Hair Reduction treatments. Learners are required to successfully achieve all mandatory units, which include:

• Perform skin rejuvenation using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) systems
• Perform hair growth reduction using LASER systems

Throughout the qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, and safe working practices relating to this Level 4 qualification. Learners will also develop the professional knowledge and practical skills required to communicate and consult effectively, analyse individual client needs, plan appropriate treatments and deliver a high standard of client care and customer service.

This advanced qualification provides an excellent progression route for Level 3 qualified practitioners wishing to specialise in IPL Skin Rejuvenation and Diode Laser Hair Reduction. The combined course enables learners to develop their expertise across both treatment modalities, gain a recognised Level 4 VTCT qualification and confidently expand the range of advanced treatments and services they can offer within the beauty, laser and aesthetics industry.

• Course work/portfolio evidence
• Case studies/portfolio evidence
• Summative practical assessments

What could this qualification lead to?

The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment or self-employment within the advanced beauty, laser and aesthetics industry. It can provide opportunities to work within salons, laser clinics, aesthetic clinics and other professional settings, or to start or expand your own business by offering IPL Skin Rejuvenation and Diode Laser Hair Reduction treatments.

What qualification will you receive?

Once you have completed your unit’s home study and assessment days you will also receive your VTCT qualification certificate (this can take up to 12 weeks to be released from the awarding body VTCT).

Experience needed – Learners are required to hold A Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy, a Level 3 Anatomy and physiology or an Access to Aesthetics qualification or equivalent. All qualifications must include A&P at Level 3 or Level 3 Facial Electrical. Core of knowledge for Laser and Light Devices.

Do you need a license for laser hair removal UK?
